Asking a person in their 60’s to be born again, could sound baffling; thus Nicodemus who earnestly desired to enter the Kingdom of God asked, how can an old man like me be born again?

“Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”

Jesus answered him; “That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’

The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.” (John chapter 3 verses 4 to 8).

In Ephesians chapter 4 verses 17 to 24 Apostle Paul speaking of the new creation in Christ said; This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind,

 Having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart;

Who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness”.

But you have not so learned Christ,

If indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus:

That you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts,

And be renewed in the spirit of your mind,and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness”.

To be born again, is to become a new creation in Christ Jesus; by His indwelling presence in our hearts and minds, through the Holy Spirit of God.

It is a transformation taking place here on earth, in the life of every sincerely devoted disciple of Christ Jesus; a preparation to be ready for entering the Kingdom of God.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new”, (2nd Corinthians 5 verse 17).
