God of the bible is a relational God referred to by many names. Yet lord, and god, are not his names; but generic titles.
This is so with nearly all world religions; where deities are generically referred to as gods and lords.
Thus lord, and god, are NOT real names referring to God of the Bible.
Does this mean He doesn’t have a personal name?
Well, in Roman 1:20 we read; “For the invisible things of Him…are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead.
The word Godhead means Divinity; it refers to God the Father; the Son; and the Holy Spirit.
The name for Godhead is Elohim, (Mighty Ones); a plural noun used over 2600 times in the Bible.
However, YHWH (Jehovah); is a personal noun that proclaims the personal name of God.
Wikipedia further explains; “Jehovah is a Latinization and vocalization of the Hebrew Tetragrammaton (YHWH)”; derived from the Hebrew verb “to be”… as was revealed to Moses: “And God said to Moses, ‘I AM WHO I AM; and He said, thus you shall say to the children of Israel, I AM has sent me to you…and this is My eternal name, and this is how I am to be recalled for all generations. (Exodus 3:15 to 17).
Thus, YHWH the eternal and personal name of God; transliterated as Jehovah, is used 6,823 times in previous editions of the bibles.
However, in 1901, the eternal and personal name of God; was replaced with “LORD” or “GOD”; both in capital letters; depending on, if the Hebrew of the verse in question is read “Adonai”, or “Elohim”.
Thus, Jehovah does not appear in most mainstream English translations; yet some use Yahweh.
However, most use Lord, with only letter L in capital; or LORD all in capital letters; to represent the Tetragrammaton (YHWH).
So, does God have a personal name?
Yes, He does.
It’s YHWH, or Jehovah.
Most importantly, it is God’s self proclaimed eternal name to be recalled for all generations.
Replacing, God’s self proclaimed eternal name with generic titles; dethrones God Jehovah, making Him 1 among multitude of divinities, Satan the devil originated.
