Wisdom is usually defined as the quality of being wise; of having experience, knowledge, and good judgement.

Being eternal and all knowing, God is infinitely wise; yet the world through wisdom knew Him not. (1st Corinthians 1:17).

Thus, Apostle Paul writes that Christ sent him …”to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.

 Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this world? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:

 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumbling block, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men”. (1st Corinthians 1:17-25).

Apostle Paul’s message is clear, our God gifted wisdom empowers us to distinguish what is truly wise, from what is unwise and foolish; thus we accept and believe the good news of salvation, which the worldly wisdom rejects as foolishness.

Before the universal flood, multitudes including many wise men, through worldly wisdom failed to know God, and rejected divine truth of the pending destruction; aside for Noah and his family, all others perished.

“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance”. (2nd Peter 3:9).

“To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen”. (Jude 1:25).
