The fresh start of a New Year is habitually equated with a fresh start to life; hoping this year things will be better.
Thus, after 2 years of a pandemic new normal; New Year resolutions for 2022 should have a new focus; and intensity.
Which is seemingly an easy routine; for being creatures of habit, each New Year we define, and record our resolutions in a New Year diary?
However, while this habitual ritual is repeated each New Year, after few years all we have is a pile of old diaries with heaps of intended resolutions.
So; what’s the problem? Well; habitual defining, describing and recording of intended changes; generates in itself a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.
Moreover; expecting a fresh start after habitually repeating the resolutions ritual each year; is as foolish; as the expectation that this year, things will be better.
Thus, our New Year challenge in 2022 is; be determined to go beyond years of failed routine resolutions; and in these challenging times make a fresh start to life.
However; giving up old habits to succeed, is very difficult; and for this to happen, the almighty faith and help is required.
Apostle Paul in 2nd Corinthians 5:17, reveals the perfect way for a fresh start to life. “Therefore if anyone be in Christ, he is a new creation; old things are passed away; behold, all things have become new”.
Someone said; hell will be paved with good intentions; and our repeated New Year resolutions, become delayed intentions; often wiped out by premature death.
So, accept the almighty faith, and help from Christ today; to receive your fresh start to life. “Behold now is the accepted time; behold now is the day of salvation.” (2nd Corinthians 6:2).
