A selfish sinful nature driven by the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is of this world and lusts for more, better, and different; which torments and prevents us from ever being free. Yet it wasn’t always like this. (1st John 2:16).
At the beginning of time on the 6thday, the Godhead made man in their image, and according to their own likeness, gifting them conditional immortality, and dominion over planet earth. (Genesis 1:26 and 27).
Man, male and female; enjoyed sinless life of selfless loving relations with Godhead and one another; living contently according to eternal laws and principles maintaining eternal peace, freedom, equality, and fulfilment.
Then, sinless existence was shattered; by the devil colossal deceptions on how to attain godhood, immortality, and the eye opening knowledge of good and evil. (Genesis chapter 3).
Enticed by the lust for more, better, and different; man, male and female disobeyed God; lost dominion of planet earth, freedom, conditional immortality; and became slaves of the devils bondage to sin and death. (Genesis chapter 5; and Hebrews 2:14).
However, this bondage was broken some 2000 years ago, as infinitely selfless love of God was manifest, when the Son of God was born as the Son of Man; who died to free mankind from the devils satanic bondage and eternal extinction.
Thus, speaking to Jews that believed in Him, Christ Jesus said: “If you abide in my word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”. (John 8:31-32).
They replied, being Abraham’s descendants we were never in bondage to anyone. “How can You say “You will be made free?
Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is the slave of sin. And a slavedoes not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed”. (John 8:34 to 36).
As the Son of God and Man, Christ Jesus refers to His sacrificial death; that brings victory over sin and death, thus forever “destroys the works of the devil”; and frees mankind from satanic bondage and eternal extinction. (1st John 3:8).
The selfless sacrifice of Christ Jesus, makes everyone that continues believing and abiding in Him the Word of life, free now and forevermore.
Thus, our selfish sinful nature driven by the lusts of the flesh, will pass away; and we will inherit eternal life He promised us. (1st John 2:24 and 25). .
“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new”. (2nd Corinthians 5:17).
