In Genesis chapter 1, verses 3 to 5; the Bible reveals, how God first up established the pattern and duration for the night and day cycle.
“And God said, Let there be light: and there was light”.
“And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness”.
“And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day”.
The text of this bible passage in Genesis 1:3 to 5 reveal the following.
There was absence of light. So God said, let there be light; and there was light.
And God saw that the light was good; implies that darkness was not good.
Thus light was called day; and darkness was called night; so God divided light from darkness by name, and duration; and establishing their set durations; ensured set hours of light for each subsequent day. (12 hours; John 11:9 refers).
By the spoken Word of God light was instant reality; yet it took the entire 1st day to separate light from the already present darkness. Could this imply that darkness upon the face of the deep (abyss of waters) was occupied by exiled Satan and his fallen angels?
And the evening; and the morning, were the 1st day.
This God established Night-Day cycle, was the set pattern for each following day thereafter.
