Death is cessation of life, for which only biblical evidences offer credible explanation.

In eternity past, death was nonexistent; for everything was forever perfect. All angelic and human beings were gifted conditional immortality; in accord with Godhead eternal principles of infinite selfless love.

Thus, from eternity past there was no death; until the intrusion of sin, and evil.

Sin is transgression of God’s eternal principles of infinite selfless love; a lawlessness of evil that leads to eternal death and extinction. (1st John 3:4 and Romans 6:23).

Sin originated in heaven, and spread to earth shortly after the beginning of time; and creation of mankind. (Genesis chapters 3 to 5).

Lucifer; a once perfect angelic being; defiled himself by sins that corrupted his character, with selfish lusting for personal godhood; which turned him into devil and Satan, the originator of sin, who deceived a third of angels, then led them to war in heaven; and after losing it, devil and his angels were cast out of heaven, down to once formless, empty and dark earth.

Perched on the branches of the tree of knowledge of good and evil; the devil and Satan sprang a bewildering shock; that surprised the passing by woman..

With cunning sophistry and mysticism of 2 colossal lies; he dazzled her senses by the speaking serpent he spoke through, as serpents do not speak. (Genesis 3:1 to 5).

The devil and Satan knew there was only 1 Almighty and Immortal Jehovah God.

However, hiding truth about God and his own true identity; he said to the woman; God knows, your eyes shall be opened, once you eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

The devil and Satan, tempted the woman to disobey her God given warning; “you shall surely die if you eat of it. He enticed her to eat of it, because “the day you eat of it”;

  1. Your eyes shall be opened.
  2. You shall be as gods.
  3. And, you shall not, surely die.

As they say, the rest is history. As mankind is mortal, inevitably we all eventually die.

Apostle Paul sums up how death of Christ Jesus destroyed death; including the devil that had power of death.

“He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage”. (Hebrews 2:14-15).

Death, and the father of death, the devil and Satan; were defeated on the cross of Calvary, where Christ Jesus shed His blood; and died.

“I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death”. (Revelation 1:18).

Thus, through Christ Jesus, mankind is freed from their bondage to the devil, sin, and death.

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord”. (Romans 6:23).
